The Pack’s Oscar Picks

Here are some of the Pack’s Oscar picks. Each individual writer’s choices for who they think will win are indicated by their name in Bold to the right of a nominee. See how our staff’s picks stand up against our own and leave your thoughts below in the comments. Also follow the sites official twitter for live updates during the show.
Mr. Will- I hope the Oscars aren’t as predictable as I think they are going to be this year. I’d love to see Inglourious Basterds take home the big prize. Plus, it would be nice if Best Actress went to either Gabourey Sidibe or Carey Mulligan. Both did such great jobs and it’s always nice to see someone younger give an acceptance speech, ala’ Cuba Gooding Jr. or Adrien Brody.
Mr. Jason- I feel that this year’s Oscars will unfortunately be quite underwhelming. I hope there will be some good surprises, but for some reason I just doubt it. My personal upset for best picture would be Up In the Air. I would be a happy man.
Mr. Maxx- To me, this year was one of the hardest to decide who I want to win. Every category has so many Oscar-worthy films. The choices were tough, but here they are.
Mr. Edens- I actually haven’t been this excited about watching the Oscars in awhile. Perhaps its because I now have a bunch of people to actually talk to about them, but also I think it’s because its for the last year of the decade as we enter into a new one. I’m excited to see the winners. I also solely picked my choices based on who I think will win, not based on who I’d like to win. The academy has a unique opportunity to make history with Kathryn Bigelow tonight and I think they’ll take it.

Someone had to be the rebel.. I’d like to clarify that my choices weren’t what I wanted to win, they were what I thought would take it.

A lot of conjecture, but maybe something to think about.
Wow…who thought Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were a good choice to host this thing. They bombed big time.
