geek
Slang.
1. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.

2. a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp. one who is perceived to be overly intellectual.

3. A carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.

Geek Round Up is a Filmdogs column celebrating the best geeky filmic news. Basically anything that incites us geeks to push our glasses up the bridge of our nose, and lean closer to our computer screens with excitement. So, let’s do just that.

For those who have had their childhoods destroyed by George Lucas and his ghastly Star Wars Prequels there is no greater champion than Mike Stoklasa aka Redlettermedia aka Mr. Plinkett. Who is this man from Milwaukee and what has he done to garner such attention? Well, a few months ago he released an epic film review for Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace that over the course of seven ten minute YouTube videos brought to light all the reasons why the movie didn’t work. The monotone narration of the sociopathic character Mr. Plinkett sarcastically lampoons the film, while at the same time helping those abused fans like myself get over the disappointment of the Prequels. The review was revolutionary in the world of film criticism for being both cathartic, and more entertaining than the film itself. Well now Redletttermedia is back with a nine part review of Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones and it is glorious. It may be the best sequel since The Empire Strikes Back.

The worst romance in film history...

As soon as I heard the review was up I dove right in and watched the entire 88min film in one sitting. It didn’t disappoint. He hits all the right notes and again helped me bring closure to my issues surrounding the film. I only wish he had come out with these reviews sooner, I could have saved a ton of money on therapy. Here are some quotes from the review to entice you to watch:

Episode 2 proves that Lucas is the master of ruining things.

There’s a Magic ingredient to forget the the movie. It’s called Bleach

So this movie is called Attack of the Clones…so i guess we should talk about that shit.

Watch the videos below and prepare to be amazed.
