Geek Round Up | Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern

geek
Slang.
1. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.

2. a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp. one who is perceived to be overly intellectual.

3. A carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.

When the word broke that Ryan Reynolds‘ suit in Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern would be totally CGI, feelings were mixed in the fan community. After all practical effects always seem to feel more real. However, after seeing the first image of Reynolds in the suit below I must say that I’m warming to the idea.

You see when a wearer of a Green Lantern ring puts it on, the power is activated by that individual’s own will. The suit below is an extension of that. A total alien/symbiotic creation. While the still below may look good, it will take some real footage to totally sell me. Plus, the mask will take a little getting used to I think.

Expect more image’s of Ryan as Hal Jordan when the magazine is released this Friday.
