No Excuses | Mark Wahlberg may star in “The Crow” Remake
UPDATE: Stephen Norrington is no longer attached to direct The Crow.
Alex Proyas’ 1994 film The Crow is, to me, something semi-sacred. It’s not perfect, but there are so many elements I love I am able to forgive the things I hate (such as: the skateboard kid). Yes, there is a tragic air surrounding the film (after the truly sad and untimely death of Brandon Lee) and there are three horrible sequels (the last starring Edward Furlong, WTF?), but The Crow still stands on it‘s own merits.
So when I hear they are remaking the film with Nick Cave writing… I’m game. Cave is responsible for writing John Hillcoat’s The Proposition, and I believe he can breath new life into this gothic revenge flick. When I hear Stephen Norrington is directing.. I’m upset. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, anyone? But when I hear Mark Wahlberg is in talks for the lead role of Eric Draven, I say… NO EXCUSES! Read the rest of this entry »

NO EXCUSES – “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen”
No Excuses is a new column that picks apart the reasons why a film failed and really why there is no EXCUSE for such a piece of garbage to be made.
This installment features Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and a lot of you already know how lousy this film really is already. But let’s go ahead and dig deeper and see exactly WHY this film just falls apart and should have never even been made.
