New Trailer | Vanishing on 7th Street

Brad Anderson‘s Vanishing on 7th Street trailer was released recently and I am interested to see what Anderson does with the film. Apocalyptic films, although I generally am a fan of the theme, are hit or miss. Lets hope for some tact in this one, I get a good feeling from the trailer and am hoping for some interesting direction considering Anderson’s The Machinist. I guess we will see!

Geek Round Up | 300 prequel
March of 2007 was taken by storm by what many perceived as an epic adaptation of the famous Frank Miller graphic novel of the same name, 300. With boasting an opening weekend in the top 50 largest in box office history and bringing in over $200 million to date despite its mixed critical consensus, it is no wonder a follow up is in the works. Get Your Docs On | Rental Review of “It Might Get Loud”
Get Your Docs On is a new Column dedicated to the many fantastic films in the ever so under appreciated Documentary genre. The film I will be spotlighting is Atom Egoyan’s Adoration.

MWMMWI is a new column dedicated to those little films that you may have had to suffer through on account of being nice to your significant other. We’ve all been there at some point in some relationship. In fact, Filmdogs wouldn’t have been born without a similar situation involving Julie & Julia. This go, we focus on a train wreck called “Did You Hear About the Morgans?“.
Generally speaking, there are two thoughts that if entering my mind within the first 10 minutes of a film, mean that I will be wasting the next 1.5 hours of my life and should bail quick..
#1. I know exactly what is going to happen plot wise for the rest of the movie.
#2. I wish a 90 foot walrus would come out of the nearest bed of water and impale the lead characters with its giant tusks.
Unfortunately, #2 didn’t happen and I didn’t heed the warning of my conscience on this one…

Over the years, DreamWorks Animation has become an industry benchmark by consistently bringing top notch and wildly successful computer animated films to the big screen with the likes of Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, Madagascar, Shark Tale and more recently Monster’s vs. Aliens. How to Train Your Dragon is not an exception to this quality standard and effortlessly holds its own among the computer animated elite.
