Oh the fickle mind of the artist…

The idea of actors/actresses entering the music industry or musicians entering the film industry is nothing new, but it has always interested me for some reason.  I don’t know if its the fact that many of the transitions are rough and don’t really pan out well, proving the artist, who could be very solid in their native career, sub-par to mediocre in their new “career”.  Either way, I’m always pleased to see an Actor/Actress who can pull their own weight both musically and as a Thespian.

Geek Round Up | New Spider-Man is cast…

New Spider-man Andrew Garfield.

geek
Slang.
1. A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.

2. a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp. one who is perceived to be overly intellectual.

3. A carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.

As we discussed on the latest episode of the podcast the choices for the new Peter Parker in the Marc Webb directed Spider-man reboot have been less than interesting. It seems as if the studio was aiming to excite the least amount of people possible with picks like Jamie Bell, Anton Yelchin, Aaron Johnson, Logan Lerman and others. Well, today it was announced that the American born, yet British raised actor Andrew Garfield is Sony’s choice for the webbed wonder. Read the rest of this entry »
