Why can’t we be friends? | Review: The Social Network

Director David Fincher and writer Aaron Sorkin‘s The Social Network is one of the few films I’ve seen in my lifetime that has lived up to the level of hype surrounding it’s release. The strange partnership of these two talents winds up being the equivalent of a cinematic dream team mowing down it’s shorter and slower competition. Yes, it’s the facebook movie, but it packs more punch than nearly any film of 2010.

Your Poster Is Cool | Never Let Me Go

Mark Romanek’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s acclaimed novel Never Let Me Go opens in limited release on September 15th, and judging from the film’s trailer Romanek seems to have crafted a very unique dramatic film. Fox Searchlight has recently released three character posters for the film, and although they are merely the actors faces there is something very haunting and poetic about them. Never Let Me Go stars Carey Mulligan (An Education, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Spider-Man Reboot), Keira Knightley (Pride and Prejudice, The Duchess), and is directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo). Continue on to check out the posters for the film, as well as the trailers for Never Let Me Go and Romanek’s underrated directorial debut One Hour Photo.

New Trailer | The Social Network

The teaser was great, the 2nd teaser was even better and now the first actual trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network “aka” The Facebook Movie is here and it’s pretty damn good. Check it out below.

I love how the trailer uses a choral version of Radiohead’s “Creep” sung by Belgian Scala & Kolacny Brothers underneath the action. I can’t wait to see how Trent Reznor’s score for the movie works out as well. Another great job by Fincher.

The film stars Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), Andrew Garfield (New Spider-man), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), and Justin Timberlake (Black Snake Moan). It’s released October 1st 2010.

2nd teaser for “The Social Network” is chill enducing

If you thought the first teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network, about the creation of facebook was good, wait til you see the new one Sony just released. Again the trailer shows no footage from the film, but still manages to demand your attention. Check it out below. Read the rest of this entry »
