Tasteless | Freejack
Back in 1992 when Freejack was released, it hyped the fact that Ronald Shusett, one of the people responsible for Alien, had written and was producing this “action packed” sci-fi thriller. That’s all it really has going for it, because the clunky pacing and the typical and repetitive sci-fi locations and ideas are what you are in store for.

Under the Radar | Merchant Ivory Films
This is a column that will focus on little known films, directors, writers, and actors. The column does not exist to tell you what to watch, but to simply help raise interest in the great art and talent that goes unseen year by year. So let’s begin. In this edition I will be spotlighting the films of Merchant Ivory.
There is a large section of the film geek culture that is completely unfamiliar or completely rejects the films of Merchant Ivory. Producer Ismail Merchant and director James Ivory have together crafted some of the most prestigious and beautiful films to come out of British cinema in the past thirty years. Their films do however have the reputation of being extremely high brow and at times cold and alienating. Merchant Ivory Productions usually focus on British aristocrats in Edwardian times and their struggles with relationships, customs, and societies ever changing rules. My goal with this article is to hopefully persuade a few film fans to check out Ismail Merchant and James Ivory’s work, by recommending three of their most popular and critically acclaimed pictures.
5 min Thor Comic Con Trailer is here!
The extended trailer for Marvel’s Thor that was shown at Comic Con is now online, and is an interesting bled of super cheesy drama and fairly badass action. Whether or not the film will turn out to be fun or a complete mess is still up in the air, but it looks like director Kenneth Branagh is the right choice for the material after all. Check out the trailer below or on our YouTube channel.
Thor is released May 11th 2011.

Earlier today we posted the cover of next weeks Entertainment Weekly featuring the first photo of Ryan Reynolds in full Green Lantern garb. Now more pictures from the article have been released with actors Tim Robbins, Peter Sarsgaard, and Blake Lively’s characters. Check then out below:

Under the Radar | The Edge
This is a column that will focus on little known films, directors, writers, and actors. The column does not exist to tell you what to watch, but to simply help raise interest in the great art and talent that goes unseen year by year. So let’s begin. The film I will be spotlighting is the Lee Tamahori “Jaws in the wilderness” film The Edge. The Edge was directed by Lee Tamahori and written by the immensely talented David Mamet. Mamet is one of my favorite screen writers, and he brings everything that I love about his scripts to this film.
When the Moon is Full… A Conversational Review of “The Wolfman” with Ms. Mack and Mr. Will

Ms. Mack: How did you like the movie?
Mr. Will: I liked it. I thought it was a good, cheesy, b movie. Lots of gore, lots of violence, good acting. I got to hear Anthony Hopkins say “Isn’t it glorious?” several times which was fun.
Ms. Mack: Why?
Mr. Will: It just sounds cool. What about you? Read the rest of this entry »
