So, I typically follow any and all Alien (and to a lesser extent, Predator) news.  That said, there is an Alien prequel (or maybe 2) on the way. Ridley Scott is slated to direct. Proceed.

Trailer for Douglas Trumbull’s new Documentary about the making of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey

If the name Douglas Trumbull sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the man behind fx in such classics as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Blade Runner, and of course 2001: A Space Odyssey. Well, now Trumbull is using his behind the scenes knowledge of that picture for incite into a new documentary about the making of Kubrick’s masterpiece.

Sample Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy Soundtrack

Six tracks from Daft Punk‘s Tron Legacy score have made their way online, and continue the dark trend from earlier trailers. The music seems to fit nicely with the stark visual tone of the film, maybe even taking some influence from Vangelis’ Blade Runner score. Listen in below.

The vampire genre has really taken off over the past few years thanks to the harlequin love story Twilight. Twilight has also completely mishandled the genre. Top Five Ridley Scott Films

With Ridley Scott’s newest film Robin Hood opening this weekend, I decided to create a personal top five list of his films. I believe that Ridley Scott is a brilliant filmmaker and an impressive world builder. His presence can always be felt in his films through his visual style and iconic imagery. He usually tackles complicated stories with deep themes and meanings. At times his films falter and some could argue that he has had three late decade slumps (1989 – Black Rain, 1996/97 – White Squall and G.I. Jane, 2006 – A Good Year). Damon Goes Sci-Fi | New Trailer for “The Adjustment Bureau”

Phillip K. Dick adaptation’s have had a long and mixed history with Hollywood ranging from great (Blade Runner) to terrible (Paycheck). Not to mention the dozens of others that fall somewhere in between. Well, now it seems Matt Damon is going to give Philip K. Dick a go as seen in this new trailer for the film The Adjustment Bureau. The flick is directed by first timer George Nolfi, a writer for The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve.
