Filmdogs Video | Classic Star Wars Dialogue: Episode 1

Ahh the Star Wars Prequels…Where to begin? I could discuss the merits of these movies for days, and I probably already have. My experience with these films follows the five stages of grief to the letter and goes something like this:

What?!!! George Lucas planning new Star Wars Sequel Trliogy, without the Skywalkers?

UPDATE: Well, that was quick. According to the good folks at Wired.com Lucasfilm denied the rumors of a new trilogy saying, “This is, of course, completely false.” Spokesperson Josh Kushins also added, “George Lucas has plenty of projects to keep him busy right now…including plenty of Star Wars projects…but there are no new Star Wars feature films planned.” Oh well, it was a fun rumor while it lasted. Of course, Lucasfilm could be lying and only time will tell. Until then I guess I’ll just rewatch the prequels if I need a fix…

Chalk this up as a huge rumor, but the word from site IESB.net is that George Lucas has plans for a sequel trilogy that could take place nearly 1,000 years after the original three. These new films would feature completely new characters, and the Skywalkers would not be present. The 1st film in the new saga would be after the released 24 months after the Return of the Jedi 3D debuts in cinemas, reminding of the release pattern of the prequels after the Special Editions hit theaters in 1997.
