Scene Stealer | The Searchers “Enter the Spirit Land”
Every scene in John Ford’s The Searchers is great, and I could continue this column for months utilizing it alone. After all it’s wisely regarded as the greatest western of all time and currently sits at number 12 on AFI’s Greatest Films of all Time list. It’s the picture that David Lean watched on repeat before making Laurence of Arabia, a practice Steven Spielberg has taken up as well.

Across the Pond | France’s: Le samouraï
When people think of foreign films they often simply pass them off as being too pretentious and experimental for their liking. Yet, one of the things I’ve discovered about films from oversees is how their main influence is often American. Which makes sense when you think about it, Hollywood is in the U.S. after all.
