Filmdogs Video | Classic Star Wars Dialogue: Episode 1

Ahh the Star Wars Prequels…Where to begin? I could discuss the merits of these movies for days, and I probably already have. My experience with these films follows the five stages of grief to the letter and goes something like this:

1. Denial and Isolation: May 19th 1999 through at least 2004. I’m not proud of this.

2. Anger: 2004 through 2006. The phase where the Lucas insults began to fly faster than The Millennium Falcon.

3. Bargaining: 2006 through 2008.At least we still have The Lord of the Rings.” Read the rest of this entry »

Trailer Exam | Unknown

I’m usually hesitant when it comes to psychological thrillers. Most of these films rely on the same tricks that have been used countless times, and rarely elevate or transcend the genre. That’s why I’m surprised that I enjoyed the trailer for Unknown. It offers nothing new, but yet there is a hint of ridiculous fun present. Here is the synopsis:

A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one, (not even his wife), believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.

Originally titled Unknown White Male, Unknown looks like a cross between Roman Polanski’s Frantic and Neeson’s own Taken. Unknown stars Liam Neeson, January Jones, Diane Kruger, Frank Langella, Aidan Quinn, and Bruno Ganz. It opens January 7, 2011. Check out the trailer below.

When the dust settles the winner of best 2010 action team-up film is…

Hollywood loves to shell out similar films in a given year, (Dante’s Peak and Volcano, Deep Impact and Armageddon) and 2010 is no exception. This year the old school action team-up made a comeback with movies like, The Losers, The A-Team, and The Expendables with varying results. So, I thought it would be in fitting with the spirit of those films to pit them against one another, and see which one comes out on top. Here are the 2010 action team-up awards. Steroids are encouraged.
