Top Five Bruce Willis Performances

With Red opening this weekend, Bruce Willis is once again proving that being a middle aged bad ass is possible. For over two decades Willis has also shown that by bringing a substantial amount of his off screen persona to his characters, he can create iconic performances that film fans hold dear to their hearts. The past few years he has hit some rough patches with some really bad films (Cop Out, Surrogates, 16 Blocks, The Whole Ten Yards), but this list will have none of that. The following is my personal top five performances by Bruce Willis. Read on… the number one may surprise you. Read the rest of this entry »

Scene Stealer | “Band of Outsiders” The Madison Dance

Along with Francois Truffaut, Claude Charbol, and others, Godard was a film critic turned filmmaker and helped to launch the now legendary French New Wave. She received Oscar nominations for her work on both Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds, and her artistic touch will be greatly missed.

Tarantino’s Masterpiece: Oscar Review of “Inglourious Basterds”

If there was ever a director who knew how to make hyperbolic statements concerning his own work and upcoming projects it is Quentin Tarantino. Rumors of the semi-sequel to his early films’ “Pulp Fiction” and “Reservoir Dogs” titled “The Vega Brothers” have been talked up for years. So naturally when Tarantino said he had an idea for the WWII movie to end all WWII movies I simply rolled my eyes. Now don’t get me wrong, I wanted to see that movie in a bad way. I may have even thought of kidnapping him at one point, and forcing him to write the script, but thats neither here nor there… Read the rest of this entry »

Censored! The Best movie Dub-Overs of All Time.

So I was watching the Coen Brothers’ cult classic “The Big Lewboski” the other day, and as a crazed Walter beat the living crap out of the car I couldn’t help but remember the way this film was famously censored for television. The Coen’s in their infinite wisdom had John Goodman himself re-dub his classic scene for TV and the result is well…brilliant. Read the rest of this entry »
