Score Your Week | Back to the Future

In honor of the upcoming Back to the Future Blu-Ray release on the 26th this Score Your Week is going where we don’t need roads. Alan Silvestri’s score for the Back to the Future Trilogy is simply iconic, and it features one of the most hummable main themes out there. It’s mysterious, emotional, majestic, and when listened to today feels like the type of classical score that we don’t hear much anymore.

From THR comes a minute of footage from the upcoming Back to the Future Blu-Ray that features the original Marty McFly, actor Eric Stoltz in action. In the behind the scenes clip director Robert Zemeckis, producer Bob Gale, and Steven Speilberg discuss how they shot five weeks with Stoltz before realizing he didn’t quite fit the tone of the film. I can’t imagine how hard having to make that decision must have been for everyone involved, especially Stoltz. My heart goes out him after seeing this. Read the rest of this entry »
