Score Your Week | The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

At the beginning of the week here at Filmdogs, a member of the pack will be offering a recommendation for a soundtrack to help you speed up those never ending work days and (if possible) inspire you.

Together Warren Ellis and Nick Cave have created three of my favorite film soundtracks in recent memory. The Proposition was my first taste of their brilliant musical collaboration and they most recently scored the devastatingly great film The Road. New Trailer | Let Me In

I’ve shared my feelings about the American remake of the amazing Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In before on the site when it’s first trailer was released. However you feel about the Americanization of foreign films a newer trailer for the remake Let Me In was just released, and it looks much better. You gotta love Comic Con when it comes to giving us film fans new footage to talk about. Check out the trailer for Let Me In below.

Tomas Alfredson’s Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In, about a boy who falls in love with a “12 year old” vampire was one of the best of 2008. Think of the film as the Anti-Twilight. It quickly gathered a cult following who then became outraged when it was announced that Colverfield director Matt Reeves was helming an American remake entitled Let Me In. And rightfully so. One of my biggest film pet peeves is US audiences being turned off by subtitles saying things like, “I don’t want to read a movie.” Read the rest of this entry »
