Spike Jonze and Arcade Fire present “Scenes From the Suburbs”

Spike Jonze is one of the most talented and intriguing directors working today. His collaborations with Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich and Adaptation) are superb cinematic experiments, reaching for the absurd while still trying to engage you with the characters. His adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are, is a poignant meditation on the nostalgia of childhood. All films show us what we know to be true of life. It is sometimes great, sometimes tragic, and most of the time strange.

For his next project Spike Jonze has chosen to forgo a feature film and instead collaborate with indie rock band Arcade Fire on a short film entitled, Scenes From the Suburbs. Jonze directed the music video for the title track of the bands album “The Suburbs”, which will be expanded for the film.
